KS3/KS4/KS5 - science, design & technology, art and design

• CLEAPSS telephone and email helpline: Access throughout the year (not just term time) to a team of dedicated subject experts for up-to-the-minute advice and support.
• Termly newsletter for all secondary schools which provides a range of information on practical work in science and technology and on current health and safety issues.
• CLEAPSS website (www.cleapss.org.uk) which makes advice and guidance for science, D&T and Art & Design, available to all relevant staff on demand, subject to annually-changed log-in details. CLEAPSS is committed to regular review and updating of these resources so that they always offer members the most relevant advice.
• Hazcards and Recipe sheets: hard copies available for a small charge - which school science departments find invaluable,
  Model Risk Assessments for Technology: valued by D&T department staff.
• CPD courses: Access to an extensive range of practical science and health and safety training courses at discounted rates.

• CLEAPSS website (www.cleapss.org.uk) which includes the new section Primary resource holding all of our primary documents for downloading and also include a search facility to save school staff time.
• CPD courses: Access to CLEAPSS primary science courses at discounted rates.

The above costs are based on the pupil number from the school census January 2024

Additional Services

A school which has CLEAPSS membership can also subscribe to the CLEAPSS Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) if they have any radioactive sources for teaching. This is a very cost effective way for employers to meet their responsibilities under the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017. If the school uses radioactive sources, the employer must consult a suitable RPA as necessary for advice on the regulations.

Additional Service for Secondary Academies:

Radiation Protection Advisory Service: £210 per academy.

You must purchase the CLEAPSS service either via Nottingham City Council or directly via CLEAPSS in order to purchase the Radiation Service. Note that CLEAPSS and Radiation service is automatically included in the general H&S Support package.
