A DEC must be displayed in a prominent place clearly visible to the public. Moreover it must be issued or renewed by qualified energy assessor every year from 2009.

A local authority can issue a penalty charge notice of £500 for failing to display a DEC at all times in a prominent place clearly visible to the public, and £1,000 for failing to possess or have in their control a valid advisory report. In addition to these penalties, it will still be necessary to commission the documents, otherwise further offences will be committed.

Service Packages will include:

1. Site visit with energy assessor

2. lodge DEC on the Landmark Non-Domestic Register

3. Issue DEC and AR (if required) to building manager

Cost: Prices for DEC will be based on the size of the building.

Unit price will be £70 per DEC renewal. Price subject to the school/academy confirming that no material changes have been made to the schools since the last DEC.
