The Local Authority retains a legal responsibility to set term and holidays dates and the intention is to maximise stability and consistency across City maintained schools and with academies where possible.

Foundation, Trust, Voluntary Aided schools, Academies and Free Schools are responsible for setting their own holiday patterns which may differ from the dates listed here. Please check the school website for details of their holiday dates.

INSET days

Please note that schools will be closed for five teacher training (INSET) days in the academic year. Other than those highlighted in yellow which are recommended INSET days, these dates are decided by the school, so we cannot list them all here.  Please contact your child's school directly to confirm all INSET dates.
